Soil prep is very important in the success of the sod and establishing a lawn. Soil preparation can only be done once before laying your sod. Clear all weeds and debris from area. We recommend a minimum depth of quality top soil to be 2-4 inches prior to installation of sod. Level and grade entire sod area. Soil should be graded to about one inch below concrete. Water soil to allow proper settling of ground and any trenches made prior to sod installation. Lightly rake soil before installation to allow proper contact between sod and soil. We are absolutely in awe at the quality of our sod received from Sod King. We ordered 4 pallets and out of all 4 pallets, only 3 pieces of sod were slightly less quality, and were still able to be used to fill in oddball spots. The Sod came with a beautiful dark green color and has kept that color after exactly 3 weeks and is absolutely thriving. I would recommend Sod King to anyone!
